Do I need Wifi to use my Sense?

Why is it needed? Dosent it just bluetooth to phone?  When my phone is off would i still get weather etc. just kinda confused. Thanks

WiFi is use to download clock faces, firmware updates, etc., from the phone to the watch. It is used because it is much higher speed, with a bigger bandwidth, than Bluetooth.
