Do I need to power my Fitbit off when I take it off my wrist, or will it sense that I do not have it on my wrist anymore? I’m asking because I want accurate heartbeat measurements, and I’m just unsure if it’s calculating heartbeats even when it’s off of my wrist.

Hi, @Lcfitblt, welcome to the community, There's no need to power off your "Sense", for best results you should wear it as much as you can. I'm aware some people can't wear these devices while working but wear it while sleeping for instance. If you do take it off lay it face down, the LED will stop flashing after a few seconds. If you lay it on its back you may get rogue HR counts (my theory is it is reflected LED light from glossy surfaces). HR measurement is detected by the LED/sensor array on the back of your "Sense" which measures the change in colour of a secondary skin layer, this is why Tattoos sometimes prevent measurement. You may find this article of interest How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?
I hope this helps.

Hi
I can't wear my Sense on my wrist when I work. Don't want it to measure the pulse but the steps. What should I do so it not measure the pulse only the step. As it is now, the heart rate measurement will be wrong. .

Hi, @ttogaf, welcome, If your Sense is not against your skin the LED will stop flashing after a few seconds and it will not detect HR. Try putting it in a garment pocket where it will detect your movement, I'm aware of others who get a step count that way. Let us know how you get on.
Cheers

Hello
Unfortunately it doesn't work. It counts steps but measures heart rate as well. I want to get away from that it measures the pulse, because it doesn't seem right when it measures in the pocket.
