EDA app failed to install or is no longer on Sense - 10/1/2020

Hi everyone,

 

We are aware that Customers who attempted to update their device yesterday may have noticed the EDA app failed to install. This issue has been resolved.

 

For those who installed and now notice the EDA app is missing, please go to the app gallery and download the app manually. 

 

We apologize for the inconvenience.

That may be. I am in the United States and was not pre-installed.

It came pre-installed on my sense - although there is an update now which won't install.

I just chatted with someone in support, explained the issue with not having the EDA scan app and not being able to install it. He unfortunately, wasn't able to figure it out. He said he was sending the case to a higher level and they would send me an email response once they had more info. Was hoping for a quicker fix than that but oh well I guess... Hopefully they'll be able to get it figured out sooner rather than later.

I’ve tried talking to three different Fitbit app support representatives and all have told me to go to the App Store and download it, no matter how many times I told them that’s what I had done. One of the main reasons I wanted the sense was for this app so I am really upset that not only can I not use it, but the company will not help me at all. It’s incredibly frustrating.

I don't think the support people are going to be able to help, it's the development programmers who will have to sort this out. I expect they will with an update. Let's hope it's soon.

I am sure fitbit will fix it soon, the update came today but it was not fully tested i guess.  I was really excited to use this feature. It was not installed on my watch, received the watch directly from fitbit in US.

i think it was downloading right from the beginning. After unsuccesful attempts of downloading, I was swiping to the watch screen, went to the last page and saw EDA app there!

Yes, the update has vanished. I suppose that's one way to fix the problem.

I woke up this morning and the EDA scan app was on my Fitbit! I have
everything set to automatically update if an update comes out so they
must've fixed it and it automatically updated.

@forthewatch Once you have it installed, it becomes an app on the watch.  

You have two option - a quick 2 minute scan or a guided session which is 1-60 minutes.  

If you choose the guided session, a notification comes up on your phone to open the phone - this will prompt you to play the audio.  

Then you place you hand on your sense (make sure your hand touches all four sides) for at least two minutes.  

Then the app will prompt you to reflect how you feel (level of stress) 

then the app will prompt you to log it or not.  

 

The Quick scan is the same as above, but there is no need to open the app on the phone.  Only the fitbit sense is needed.

I found that after I accepted the 6 month premium trial it downloaded, installed and started working, including the update. I wonder if this app is tied to the premium account. Did anyone else have the same experience?

No, the EDA app is not tied to premium service, my sense came with it installed.

Thanks for the info, I tried the quick scan and it worked as you mentioned. I will try the guided session soon, thanks for your reply.
