My exercise tracking data seems to have gone through a shift on my Sense.
1) boot camp vs workout vs weights:
I understand from researching in this forum that no matter which exercise category I pick, the stats are computed the same way. So in effect, these categories should all be interchangeable. But this is not true in reality on my sense. I do CrossFit style workouts. When I track a WOD using the “bootcamp” setting, it will consistently track at double or more the calorie burn as when I track a WOD using the “workout” setting. I follow the same programming, so the difference in calories is coming from the tracker not the actual workout being done. Why is this? A 200 calorie fluctuation per workout is a big difference, esp if you are tracking food calories.
2) my run stats have gotten slower, relative to where my normal pace is. However, when I look at my real time pace readings during a run, they feel off compared to the pace I’m actually running. When I track my run in another gps based app at the same time that I track it on my sense, the other app will consistently show that I ran farther than my sense shows. I have tested my sense against multiple different gps running apps. The difference in distance would naturally result in a slower pace reading. Any reason why this distance measurement would suddenly change on my sense?
For what it’s worth, I use my sense in conjunction with an apple iPhone X.

@RossPJ01 , I wish I had the answers to your questions.
I posted a related topic more than a month ago and also never got any reply.
It would be helpful if Fitbit explained in more detail the differences between different exercises. Not the obvious that we can see on screen, but the hidden ones, like the algorithms. For instance, does it make sense to try every exercise in Sense Exercise app to use when running? E.g., can a completely different exercise, like Swim for instance, give us more accurate results when we run than the obvious Run option?
In the end, I suspect all these doubts and unreliable results come from a single Sense issue: its Heart Rate measurements, much discussed and complained about in this forum.
I guess the only way to get these questions answered may be try asking Customer Support. Just maybe...
