Fitbit Sense Charger Issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My husband upgraded to a Sense when we got the e-mail about the Ionic causing burns. Literally, he's had this thing for FOUR months!  In that time, we've been through THREE chargers - and the third is now broken too.  What is the deal with these things? A quick search shows that this is a known issue - everyone has problems with the chargers. Is there a plan to fix this? If not, the "new" Fitbit Sense is just going to be tossed in a drawer and the membership cancelled.  Fitbit.... do better.

Hi @g8rcpa  - have a look at charging tips when you get your replacement cable under warranty, it may last longer

Also it is important to regularly clean the 4 contact holes to avoid sparking which can break the charge cable.

Nah. Not buying another one or dealing with their non-existent customer service to fight for a warranty cable.  They've lost us as a customer base. Three strikes and all.... it's a fitness watch, and not a cheap one. The membership has been cancelled and he's back to the Apple Watch. They need to fix the actual problem. I guess they must pay you in chargers, as much as you stick up for them.

Yes, this is a chronic issue. I've been through several chargers myself, and somehow, even third party devices have precisely the same issue. It always appears to be the pogo pin in the lower left position (when held in the charging position upright for the watch face) that fails to pop up after a short time of usage.

In addition the contacts on the back of the watch appear to only have conductive material in a ring at each contact, so I'm constantly having to carefully micro-wiggle the charger and watch to get charging to start. Then the display keeps jumping between the glowing ring, the regular watch face (which doesn't indicate charging or not), a blank display, the warning message that charging is going slowly, which requires I touch the watch to dismiss (possibly stopping the charging from continuing), and if I can scroll in the right direction at the right moment, the display where only the subtle drawing of a battery with a dot in the center (charging) or a partially full battery (NOT charging) tells you whether the watch is charging AT ALL.
