Fitbit Sense Experience

I recently committed to purchasing a Fitbit Sense after using Samsung and Garmin extensively. Some concerns include the following:

  • Images sent in text messages should be visible on the Sense. This is a price of admission feature on any Amoled Screen at this price point (ex. Samsung and Apple).
  • Why is it not possible to sync Blood Pressure monitors directly to the Fitbit App? I don't even see the option to manually key.
  • Why are the data screens so limited? For example, in "Hiking" the option to view elevation stats is missing altogether (no ascent, elevation, etc).
  • Now, this one is unnervingly hard to understand - why no "dark mode" option within your mobile app.

Sadly, without the aforementioned basics nailed, this offering comes across as "half-baked" and not ready for prime time. It delivers some of what a Smart Watch should offer - significantly behind Apple and Samsung in execution and performance (except with step accuracy where the Fitbit is better than Samsung). It delivers reasonably well on Health (Sleep, SO2, etc), but is weak with Fitness - light years behind Garmin for example. One area that Fitbit dominates all others is their "Community". For me, though, this one bright spot cannot retain my loyalty. I will be returning my Sense until it makes sense (pun intended) to return. Best Wishes! 🤓
