Fitbit Sense does not charge

I started to charge my Sense yesterday and it does not charge. I cleaned it as suggested, I charged the outlet. It comes to life for a few seconds when I plug in and then dies. The weirdest thing is that the phone app shows that the device is alive and 36% battery, but the device itself does not work. I have tried resetting but the buttons do not work! What should I do?

Hi, normally when a watch is on charge the display is blank.

If you double tap the watch while its charging it should show you the charge level, or you can consult it in the Fitbit app by pulling down on the first screen to refresh the sync to see the current battery level. It won't take more than about an hour to fully charge.

The button takes a little while to get used to, so may be it's working. Don't use your nail though. You could try this

Worn on the left arm -

rest your other thumb on the arm to the left of the watch

and forefinger on the back of the hand

and do a gentle squeeze of the watch

If you can get a display on the watch, swipe left and click Settings and at the bottom Shutdown.

Place it on the charger again after 10 seconds to restart it, it may cure the step problem.

If not, probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

How long have you had your Sense?  I had to replace my charging cable after 10 months (provided free by Fitbit under warranty).  I've had this problem with multiple Fitbit devices and the charging cables.  The little tiny nubs wear down and no longer properly connect to the device.
