Fitbit Sense logs 20,000+ steps every say at ~1 AM

Why does my Fitbit log 20,000+ steps every morning at about 1 AM? I even left the watch on the headboard for 36 hours and both days it recorded over 20,000 steps while I was asleep. Yesterday it recorded 290,000 steps before I woke up. It later reduced them to about 24,000. I assume because it is linked to my phone and apps like Google Health, Samsung Health, etc. I have checked for updates and rebooted the watch. I reinstalled the app. None of the other apps have these steps until late in the day when they sync with Fitbit.

Hello Mate, have you tried a full factory reset, if not please try it. If it still persists after the factory reset, contact Fitbit  , may be they would consider replacing it

Did a factory reset yesterday. Looks like it is a problem with the app. Looking on the app it shows 36k steps and the same 1 AM marathon. My watch shows 1,274 steps. Never caught it with this discrepancy before.

That’s really weird mate.
If you can delete the app and all data from it.
Also check if any other app or device syncing to the app, remove them.

Try downloading the app and re-sync the device and see if its works

Cheers
