Hi All,
So I upgraded from a Pixel 4 to Pixel 8 Pro and for the life of me I cannot get the ECG app to open on my Fitbit Sense v1 health watch. No matter what I try every time I try to open the ECG app on my watch I get the message "To get started, please open the Fitbit mobile app":
I have factory reset the phone and made sure all apps are updated.
I have factory reset the watch and added again to Fitbit app on phone.
I have even done a factory reset and created a new google account and new fitbit account but result is still the same.
All apps are up to date on the watch & phone, permissions have been checked and everything works perfectly apart from opening the god damb ECG app on the watch.
This leads me to beleive there is a bug with the Fitbit Sense and the Pixel 8 Pro.
Phone Software = Pixel 8 Pro January 2024 Update
Fitbit App on phone = 4.06.7
Fitbit Sense Watch Firmware = 44.128.6.17
ECG App on Watch = 2.9.2
Would love to have some help 🙂

There is no problem with your phone. When you see that prompt open the FitBit app > tap the You tab > and then the ECG tab > follow the setup steps there. Be aware that it takes a while for the ECG tab to open on the phone for the first time.

Hi Scott,
All I see here is this and my watch is still staying the same.

I don't remember the exact steps but there is setup that must be completed in the FitBit app somewhere before ECG works on the watch

I did the setup already. But watch stays like this:

Have you restarted the watch since doing all the setup?

Yes.
As I say everything works well apart from the app on the watch asking me to open the app on the phone. Everything has been reset and rebooted multiple times.

Thanks, but none of these threads help and the ECG app works just fine on my pixel 4 pro. This is a Fitbit + Pixel 8 bug.

It has nothing to do with phone model. I have a Pixel 7 Pro running Android 14 just like the 8 Pro, and used ECG on a Pixel 4 Pro and Pixel 6. There is additional setup in the Fitbit pp somewhere, somewhere in Health Assessments. Did you click to open the ECG tab in the app? Are there additional steps there, or acknowledgements?

So just factory reset my Pixel 4 and the Fitbit Sense watch again.
After reset I pair the Pixel 4 and the Fitbit Sense watch and ECG app works instantly.
Same procedure again on Pixel 8 Pro (after resetting phone and watch) but this time ECG app does not open.
So definitely a Pixel 8 + Fitbit Sense bug.
