My Fitbit has not reset overnight and I awoke to over 11k steps this morning. I have tried a soft reset this morning but still not zeroed itself.

Hi, @Barbarajane22, welcome to the community, did you achieve 11K steps the previous day or was this something that just appeared overnight? You do not mention if you synced your "Sense". These articles explain the process How do Fitbit devices sync their data? and Why won't my Fitbit device sync? Generally speaking, each time you open the Fitbit app on your mobile phone it will sync automatically, you can also swipe down on the today screen to achieve the same result. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Hi, I am suspecting that it duplicated my previous days steps, which were 10,095. I have tried syncing, logging off the app and back on. Closing down the sense. Been on the chat support etc. It is syncing and steps are increasing today as I do them, its just registered as 10k to many and totally threw me for my days calorie allowance.

I will be sending it back if it keeps doing this as I need a reliable tracker

Hi, @Barbarajane22 thanks for the update. You will be aware some people have reported a similar issue. You may find this article of interest How accurate are Fitbit devices? (there's quite a long section on "steps") and this third party article How to make your fitness tracker count steps more accurately - The Verge (it's not just Fitbit). How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities? has an interesting few lines about allocating "steps" to driving that you might be interested in.

Cheers

Thanks. I will take a look,  but I never drove anywhere.. just slept and I can understand a few hundred randomly appearing whilst you sleep but 10k? I also had a good restful sleep according to the fitbit data. Everything else reset itself to zero including stairs climbed and active minutes.  The only two things that didn't were the steps and the calories.

It's a top of the range, expensive brand new Sense and will contact customer services tomorrow as think it needs returning.
