I’ve been using fitbits since 2015 and I’m getting so frustrated. I upgraded to the sense last year and I’ve been heavily relying on it for heart rate tracking since going on medication that is known to increase it. I’ve been working with doctors to decide the best dose for me based on heart rate and I’m at my whits end with my sense. I’m a healthcare working and know how to manually take my heart rate and my sense is off typically 30+ bpm. I’m really looking into switching to Apple because I’m so frustrated. And no it’s not mistracking because of a band or too tight/loose. I’ve worn the same band it came with and it’s on the tightest setting that still allows some movement so it’s not cutting off circulation.

It seems to be that the heart rate tracking on the Sense is fundamentally flawed. I don't think any person should rely on it for any kind of medical condition (it could be a danger), but to be fair I don't believe it to be certified for such use.
Is your Doctor not able to provide you with a real (certified) medical device to use, instead of relying on such gadgets which are toys in comparison? I know it doesn't excuse the terrible heart rate tracking, but these devices were not intended for such sensitive or critical duties.

I have the same issue - I've had this Sense for about a month after several years with the Ionic (switched after recall).
It appears to be a significant step down in terms of HR monitoring. Mine has shown real inability to measure high HR and flips to a lower heart rate during the most intense periods of my workout. Here are three images of HIIT spin sessions. The areas highlighted in yellow are my peak exercise periods - my HR should be 170+ (and does register at that level with another independent HR monitor). It seems to get confused, drops impossibly quickly to "fat burn", when it should be "peak", and after a while jumps even more quickly back to "peak" again. These highlighted areas should be inverted on the HR chart. I picked three separate sessions - so very reproducible.
I'm not relying on this for any medical purposes - but for a "fit" bit, i expect it to at least in general terms understand the intensity of my fitness activities.
Fitbit - any ideas here? Is there a solution on the forums other than "wear it tighter/looser" or "clean the sensor" or "restart your device"?
