Heartrate skyrocketing while asleep or not wearing device

My heartrate data shows my heart rate soaring to 150 - 163 and then dropping off and no data for several hours (until the time I wake up and put the fitbit back on). This scared me because I don't know if it's trying to say I'm having heart attacks or anything else. Last night I was not wearing my fitbit to sleep and it tracks me at 156 bpm. I did drop the fitbit off the table while putting my phone away, could that have given me high data? Or is it tracking a phone charger or battery backup? There was one night where it does show it going up to 150 bpm, and sleep data stops 15 minutes later, so I assume that was the day I had a nightmare, but these other nights that show the data stopping for several hours after a peak increase, are inaccurate. How do we fix this?
