Heavy battery drain and very poor backup due to forced ALL DAY SYNC🤨

I'm having a nightmare of sorts as my fitbit sense which used to give me 6 days of backup has suddenly started to rundown in less than 2 days after the recent firmware update. And this is when I have already enabled all the battery saving options.

This is all due to the foolish and poorly conceived idea somebody in fitbit had to forcefully turn ON the ALL DAY SYNC and leave no option for the user to turn it OFF.

I think this is being done so that users are forced to abandon fitbit devices.

I demand that the option to enable/disable ALL DAY SYNC be restored immediately.

Thanks @amolpingle - you can further investigate if there is a sync issue using the SimpleCheckUp watch app, to see if it connects well and also when it last synced from the watch.

Of course a sudden battery drain can also be due to a hardware fault if humidity got in, for example. If that is the case you can try drying it in a bag of rice but if damage has been done already it may not help.

Hi @amolpingle - what firmware update did you receive, can you post the current firmware version (in the Fitbit App click profile photo and device photo, itsat the top)

What Fitbit App version do you have (in the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & support)

As regards all day sync this was removed years ago and replaced by an automatic syncing which if working does not cause a problem, in fact works well so is an improvement.

You may however be experiencing a syncing issue provoked by a newer version of the Fitbit App.

If so try turning off Bluetooth on the phone and all other devices running the Fitbit App and restart the watch.

Thank you for your reply. I've attached the desired pictures. You are right it is a sync issue as the watch is trying to connect to the phone all the time.  I think the phone not connected symbol on the watch (yellow circled) is the reason for the heavy battery drain. It never came on the earlier firmware version irrespective of whether phone was connected or not.

Things I've already done before posting on the forum
1. Updated fitbit app
2. Factory reset the watch
3. Unpair/pair the watch
4. Fitbit data migrated to google fit

Thanks you so much for your help

Thanks for the good pics @amolpingle - you can turn off the Status Indicators in the watch Settings, see if that makes a difference.

The syncing issue may be the phone.

Try Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone.

Make sure there are no other devices running the Fitbit App switched on.

Restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

Login and wait for any pair, link or Fixit prompts and sync.

I did as suggested. However, there is no appreciable change. Even without logging any activity, the battery percentage has come down by 50% in 24 hrs.

I've done the whole process suggested above again and will share the result. Thanks.

Thank you for all your help. It has helped in  improving the battery life to some extent.

But I have myself found the reason for the heavy drain of the battery. And it is not ALL DAY SYNC. So my sincere apologies to FITBIT for using the harsh language in my first post.

The real culprit was the snore detect snoring option under sleep tab of settings which I had enabled along with the firmware upgrade. It was causing heavy drain whenever I was asleep. Once I disabled it, the battery backup has improved significantly.

Apologies once again.
