What would you consider a bike-riding step?
You do get increased calorie burn from higher heart rate, and possible zone minutes, but step are not really applicable to biking, though you might get some recorded just from the vibrations on your wrist.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Jutesa55. Thanks for asking about your Sense registering steps while bike riding.
Please tell us what would you consider a bike-riding step as @JohnnyRow mentioned.
When you ride a bike on bumpy trails, your device may add some steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added when riding a bike isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. If your device has an Exercise app, make sure you choose the Bike exercise before starting your workout. If you use automatic tracking to detect your bike ride, make sure the Outdoor Bike exercise is set to be automatically recognized. For more information, see How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?

Thanks for getting back to us and for checking advised information @Jutesa55.
Usually, steps are not taken into consideration in these kind of activity since it's not a step based activity.
