I have to join and link this thing to an app on my phone. How do I know if this is done. And how do I disallow fitbit notifications

you download Fitbit app from your phones app store. you create an account forfitbit when you start the app up then you choose your fitbit tracker you own and follow the info if it a brand new fitbit it will start downloading it firmware and be ready to use in like 20 minutes of downloading. I hope that helps make sure you turn on your Bluetooth on the phone also.
