How do I get my Sense to track my exercises?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Sense recognised that I was doing exercise today by showing zone minutes, but it didn’t show it as an exercise session. So then I try to log it manually but I don’t get any options at all when I search in the search field. So I can’t log anything. What to do?

Not sure what you mean, @AnnWas, when you say you don't get any options.  When you open the screen to manually log an exercise you wish to track, it gives you the opportunity to enter the type of exercise you want to add, such as Workout, Walk, Bike, etc., and then enter the start time and duration. There is no need to search for anything. You can manually enter calories, or let the system calculate them based on your heart rate during that period of time.

Hello @AnnWas and welcome to the Help forums.  Logging an exercise after the fact can lead to double counting, so you really shouldn't do it.  Your Sense gave you credit for your steps, calories, zone minutes, etc., but the activity pattern that the Sense needs to automatically give you credit as an "exercise" didn't fit the device's algorithms.  You can increase the chance that you will get automatic credit by doing the following: tap on your exercise tile (but not over the + sign), then tap on the gear in the upper right.  Tap on Aerobic Workout, then adjust the time to 10 minutes.

Using the Exercise app on the Sense is the best way to make sure your exercise is credited properly.

What type of exercise were you doing?  We might be able to give you even better advice knowing that.  Logging after the fact is best if you forget to wear your Sense.  And, yes, the list of exercises is limited.

Hi! When I try to log manually I just get a search field, no free text field where I can add text, no options to choose from and no search results. And I can’t continue to the next step so I can’t log duration, date etc. It looks different from your picture 🤔

Thank you Laurie! I was doing yoga, and I’ve now changed the time to 10 min and hopefully it will work next time 😊

Its still strange though that I can’t log anything manually and that I don’t get any options when I search for yoga for instance in the search field.

@AnnWas   Yoga won't get picked up as an automatic exercise.  The movements aren't rapid enough, like walking, to register as an exercise.  Use the Exercise app and the Yoga shortcut.  This will solve all your problems.  Tap on your Exercise app, then scroll to the bottom and Yoga is there.  After you use the Exercise app, yoga will come to the top of the list.  The Sense splits the list into Recent, then everything else.
