I have charging issues with my sense

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought this device last year in March and ever since I got the watch there was a display message showing slow charging every time.

Fitbit

1. I tried numerous reboots

2. Numerous times over the months I wiped the device and tried to see if there was some muck or debris that could be impede the charging.

3. Let me also mention that this is the case every since 2019 I bought a Fitbit charge 3 and changed it 3 times until last year I thought maybe its a design issue and I should buy a new upgraded model to avoid the issues with charge .

4. Unfortunately the issues dont end there, this new Fitbit sense model doesn't work, it give me skin rash every time I wear it.

5. Charging the device is nightmare at times and I have to try everything just to have it get charging.

6. As I write this there is new issue in the device, when I plug-in the charger there is a flickering screen showing for a few seconds and then it crashes.

Now I have to reach out to support to try and get my watch and strap replaced.

Also please ask you dev team to remove the annoying distractions like pop up messages that appear when someone tries to write a review/ community post.

All these issues really stress me out and almost ready to switch to Apple watch at this stage.

Hi @kennythomas -

For the strap - buy a different sort, a rash can happen with a lot of repetitive movement if the watch strap get gets sweaty or dusty. Try it on the other arm to give the rash time to heal.

For the charging issue check the charge contacts on the back of the watch are properly clean, they collect grime easily which makes a bad contact, inspect the contacts of the charge cable and try using a computer port - How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

Hi Guy_

I have already tried your mentioned methods over the last year with both changing straps and changing right to left hand. It happens every single time.

The charger issue is something that’s happening from day 1 I received the product.

its a manufacture’s design issue, the sense can easily build up in dirt as you said but I have tried to make sure there is no dirt in the device.

its also a programmer issue as every time the watch connect to any port (both on plug of any kind or a USB port) it show this message.

and incase your wondering that I haven’t updated the device, be assured Its up to date.

I have tried all troubleshooting steps, I should as I have been doing this whole buying and replacement ordeal over the last 3 years.

Its a design and program issue with the watch.

cheers,

Kenny

@kennythomas  - thanks, as it's under warranty take it back to the shop for a refund or a new replacement, as there should not be a problem charging.

Though you might first try the SimpleClockPro watch face from the Gallery that predicts charge time and see how much longer it is taking to charge in case it is actually charging normally.

You could also try a new charge cable, as they are frequently at fault.
