The new os was released a few days ago, I still have not received a banner to updated my os. Currently have a pixel 3 running firmware version 44.128.1.42. Why is this roll out so slow? When should I expect to get notification for this update?

Have you ever seen a fitbit update complete in a few days? My experience is updates roll out gradually, usually over at least several weeks.

Never paid much attention to in the past because I didnt think it of as a big deal. I bought this fitbit about a month ago and this is a big update in my mind. They should seriously find a way to allow people who want to update, to do it manually. This is seriously disappointing.

@JohnnyRow weeks!? That's insane... I'll give it until the end of the week, that's the deadline for returning my watch..

I can't speak for this rollout, but I have read in the past they do it gradually in case they run into any unexpected problems (though people respond that any problems should have already been discovered). Maybe this one will be quicker - I don't know.

I wouldnt blame you for doing that, i dont really see a reason why we should have to wait for this update. I know many people dont keep up to date, but for those of use who do, we should have the option to download it manually.

It's pretty standard to slowly deploy updates in days to weeks. I really wish all the features had been available at the start. As they're not, we'll unfortunately have to try to wait patiently. (I check about every hour although I know it won't speed things up).

I don't mind them taking a few days or longer to roll out, but today I've gotten an e-mail and a blog post and an in-app notification about the new firmware release, and it's nowhere to be seen. Why announce it if not all users can get it yet?

Apparently, Fitbit thinks I should have the update. I just received an email from them that had an update button. The button to me to the apps page for changing assistants, but there is no Google Assistant option because I'm still on the old firmware. That's quite a misfire.

Yeah this is ridiculous. I just received the email as well. If we know there is an update out, and we go try to check the version / get it to update, then it should let us get it. The staggered / staged update part should just apply to people that don't check or try to update.

Ya that's my complaint too. I got an email and I was like oh, maybe I can update now. NOPE...

I saw the post, still dont see why fitbit wouldn't think to allow individuals who are loyal to the product to do manual updates. Sounds like they need better understanding of the customer base they have. Maybe hire me to help with the rollout of the products and software.

Odyssey13, I'm well aware that they stagger rollouts. My complaint is that I've been told by Fitbit 3 times today (e-mail, in-app notification, blog post) that I can update my Sense, but when following the steps in that document, no update is available to me. Fitbit can either wait to notify us until after the staggered rollout is done, or allow manual updating. But it's annoying and confusing to get so many notifications telling me to get the new firmware when no new firmware is available for me yet.
I am not complaining about waiting. I don't care if it's tomorrow or next week or next month. But it's a waste of my time to be told thrice "hey! new features! go get the update!" and then try to get the update and have it not be ready for me yet.

Yup still no update here. Probably the update is filled with bugs. I would hold on for a month or so even if you get the banner to update. Fitbit have a culture and tradition of doing things the slow way.
Even the SpO2 require hrs of sleeping. Every-time I want to measure my SpO2 I have to sleep for 3hrs, It is starting to get annoying.
