I received my Fitbit Sense as a Christmas gift in 2020 and yesterday, I was swimming in our pool when I noticed the screen was black. I knew it was charged, I had just checked the percentage earlier in the day and it was at 81%. I tried putting it on the stand charger for a while, nothing so I dug out the original Fitbit charger and left it on that for a while and eventually, large red battery icon came up saying 0%. Weird but I left it on the charger for a few hours and when I came back, the Fitbit logo was on the screen, waving, so I held down down the button for 10 seconds and the Fitbit just kept vibrating, nothing ever powered on and the logo remained but it wasn't waving anymore, it was just stationary. Left it on the charger through fireworks and when I came back inside, it was vibrating over and over and over again and wouldn't stop with the Fitbit logo on the screen! I tried looking up a few help artlcles and YouTube videos but nothing worked. We were so concerned about the vibrating that I left the watch outside overnight in case something funky was up with the battery and this morning, it's just dead, black screen, nothing will come up.
Has anyone else had issues with the Sense longevity with swimming? We put in a pool in April 2021 so I swim regularly in the summer now where I never did before. This is the 3rd pool season with my Sense and I just find it odd that it stopped working after a long pool day. I feel totally naked without one - I've been a loyal customer since 2014 so guess it's time to get researching the next kind of buy but sure hope it does better in water than this one! Thanks, all!

I was ocean swimming yesterday and my Sense crapped out a few hours later. I typically wear mine all day, including sleep, showers and training. I have had this for 15 months so Fitbit only offered 35% off of a replacement. Close to one year but not close enough. I am upset as I had gone through a battery recall on my Ionic last year so I am questioning reliability and wondering if I should plunk down another few 100 dollars for another one?

Gosh, I feel lucky I got to 2 and a half years then! I went ahead and just ordered the Versa 4, I really love the functionality of the Fitbit smartwatches, not to mention the epic battery life compared to Apple Watches. I wear mine all day as well but I have always taken it off to shower, for some strange reason. Probably habit more than anything else but always kept it on while I swim. I probably don't clean the sensors as often as I should and work out regularly so I'm definitely going to be a little bit more diligent about that with this new Versa.

My sense is acting dodgy... It's " settings" menu is not working anymore so my only option is a "soft reset" and I cannot go back to factory settings:
Dodgyness on my sense:
random screen codes accompanied by "no trans"
not able to enter "settings" menu on the device
Scrambled or locked screens from needing a soft reset to resolve (2-3 times a day)
Previously I had an IONIC for more than three years that worked perfectly, got a mandatory recall on it and decided to try the Sense, it should come with possibility to download music (which Fitbit then disabled) and now one year and three weeks into the use of this it has become impractical to use.
No warranty and it seems like a case of planned obsolessence.

Hi all, the seals on some watches are not very robust and do deteriorate over time and are affected by how the watch is used.
Unfortunately if the watch starts behaving strangely all of a sudden it is most likely [though not always] due to internal damage from water.
If the watch is under warranty [1- 2 years depending on country law] it can be replaced.
After that a discount on a more expensive watch is proposed and those watches don't have all the features of the current watch, so a better choice is to buy another same model or switch brand if you are looking for good battery life.
It is useful to chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support, in case it is some other issue and to locate the activation date [for warranty purposes] if you can't get to the watch Settings, About menu.
