When I take my fitbit off to charge etc and go to put it pack on in the morning the steps and calories are showing as being on a wrist.. dosnt really put faith in what it's telling me is the truth when it is on.

It's normal to get calories recorded in the morning.

As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing includes the total BMR calories burned since midnight.

I would not expect to see any steps though. How many are you seeing? There is an occasional problem where steps do not reset at midnight and in the morning show the previous day's total. Could this be the issue here?

Hi Steve I get the calorie record while asleep but I'm taking about not even having the device on my wrist it has happened several times I have charged it overnight and in the morning it has calories and steps when it's been sitting beside the bed all night

As I mentioned, the calories sound normal as your BMR calories are tracked whether you are wearing it or not - they can be calculated just from your profile settings.

It's the steps that concern me as they should not be tracked if you are not wearing it. How many are we talking about? Does the number sound like the previous day's total?

Assuming you took off your fitbit before midnight then I'm afraid to say I can't explain why those steps were tracked. Hopefully someone else will post with a suggestion.
