I recently received an email stating there is a battery overheating issue with sense and versa 3. It suggests I perform a firmware update. I cannot find an update in my Fitbit app for my device. A further email suggests an appeasement payment of $50 and asking for my bank details. Is this a scam??

@Ottley There is a battery heating issue with some Sense and Versa 3 models. So yes, this is real. Please see this announcement for full details. Sense and Versa 3 Battery Performance Program This is the Sense 2 forum, so I looked at your public profile -- I can see that you also posted in the Sense forum. According to the Help article, you can apply for the appeasement, but Customer Support might ask for additional information to verify your device.

Thanks for your answer.
So, do you know, is this a sense device rather than a sense 2 device issue??
(I used to have a sense device but it died on me last year and I then purchased a sense 2 device.)
kind regards

It sounds like a scam. Official companies, such as Fitbit, would not ask for sensitive information like bank details via email. Be cautious, especially with the mention of a payment. It's safest to ignore the email and only update through official platforms like the Fitbit app to protect your security.
