Keep chosen language with Location on, but leaving the country

Dear All!

I already have this issue for a while and as I tried to find the solution, I also see that other people also have it already years before. But unfortunately I couldn't find the solution and the official support either misunderstood me or don't know the solution and give a basic answer.

I would like to use my Fitbit Sense in English but I'm living in Austria and I would like to keep my location service on, because some of the apps on my watch need it for functioning.

Anybody knows a solution which doesn't say that I have to switch off location and choose an English speaking country?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @Coolname82  - if you log into your settings here  there are the options you can set.

Set Country Austria

Language by Country/Region - choose United Kingdom (English UK)

and remember to hit Submit at the bottom and then sync?

See if that gives you what you want.

Hi @Coolname82  - are you by any chance using multiple devices to login?

Make sure after you made the change to logout of the web. And sync the watch.

Does it change systematically even without charging?

Hi Guy_!

I tried it, but today is again German even I logged out on the web and synced the watch. I didn't charge it.

I don't know what could be the problem, but it's very annoying.

Thanks for helping!

@Coolname82  - thanks, there may be a few other places to change

  • in the Fitbit App, click profile photo, App settings and use - select location UK and automatic location off
  • if that doesn't work it may be picking up a phone setting which depends on the phone, language input, location etc.
  • in the web settings it may help if the food database is uk, though probably has no bearing
  • Also in Google Assistant account settings it may have a bearing on what language/locations you use

It is working for me with a Sense and other Fitbit watches on a Samsung S9+, and it stays, so it is possible.

Just a matter of finding the right combination for you!

Hi!

I will try the last 2 ones because the 1st cannot be. I need my location on.

Thank you!

Actually @Coolname82  you should be able to set automatic location off.

It's different to having the phone being connected to GPS for location which is necessary.
