I just bought a Fitbit for my mother for the ECG function, but just found out that the ECG app is not available in Malaysia. Is there a plan to make it available here? Why would you sell the device when it is disabled in Malaysia, can I send the device back for refund?

we don't know if they have applied, because it is not disclosed to the public
HOWEVER, I am pretty sure the device was advertised as having the feature, hence I bought it for my mom, so she could do a quick self check (I know it is not medical grade)

Hi James, before i bought the Fitbit Sense, i check all the info i can through their website and videos, the promotion material did not mention that the ECG feature is not supported in all the countries. And did you know that in the promotion video about the Alexa / Google voice command also is not available in Malaysia as well, also some feature can be activate from Android phone and not iPhone. This is what i found out after doing in-depth research. I only know about the ECG support info only after chatting with the Help Support from Fitbit overseas. And we cannot get local support as the sales person is not that knowledgeable in some usage experience.
Hi Jeffrey, I agreed with you 1,000,000 % on the marketing channels you have mentioned.
Hi Ethanol, i read in a community column somewhere by Fitbit Moderator that in order for them to get an app / feature approved for R&D or submissions, they did to have "Enough" Votes for them to actually do it. So if the ECG app for Malaysia to be approved, they need to have enough votes for Fitbit to take this into their account
Hi Ethanol, I am using Sense, and it should have everything as said. However, the ECG feature in not in the watch itself. If you go into the Fitbit App, under App function, you will not see the ECG app for you to install. For SP02 tracker, you can find it in the App selection and install on to the watch. However, i have been looking all the App in the Fitbit App itself, non of the ECG is available for us to install. Unless change the VPN & the country we live in. Need to change to the country that support the ECG app which i think is pointless and ridiculous and out of mind.

Hi just an update other than the ECG tracking features are not available In Malaysia. The latest feature Fitbit roll out is the Blood Glucose tracking feature. Well, as expected that after checking with the Fitbit customer support, I found out the new Blood Glucose tracking feature is ONLY available in the USA. It is truly disappointed that all Good & Important features as such these are not available for us Fitbit users in Malaysia.
I assure myself the next watch i am looking shall be the Apple watch.

I too bought the charge 5 after reading the marketing material, which in hindsight is misleading. I was looking forward to the ECG app. quite disappointed that its not available in Malaysia & even more disappointed with the misleading marketing. wont trust fitbit anymore.

I have decided not to buy Charge 5 because of all these issues. Will move to Apple Watch after Charge 4 stops working in future.

Just change Location of both the App (setting) & Profile (personal) to the country that supported fitbit ecg app, I just change it to Singapore and it is working fine 👍

are you sure ? changing any setting does not work for me. it uses GPS and enables or disables ECG based on location.
incase you are close to Singapore, but actually in JB Malaysia, its possible it would pick Singapore and work.
