There are numerous videos, reviews and also questions herein on the community that are fairly disparaging of the fact that you cannot upload your own personal music to the Sense.

My question isn't about if this will be added.

So this is not asking for the feature to be added.

What I wish to know is what was behind the business decision made to not allow the Sense to be able to have offline music uploaded from our own personal collections.

That should be able to be answered straight away surely?

So can you please let those of us know, who have spent £299 on a watch, why such a fundamental feature was omitted.

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Community.

 

I really don't know what happened to remove this feature from the new devices (Versa 3 and Sense). I do understand that many users would prefer to have their own music instead of using an additional service for this purpose. What I can tell you is that voting is important as the developers will note that many are interested in having this feature in the new devices. This is how you can "pressure" our developers. Still there could be other reasons (either technical or legal/licensing/etc.) that may have influenced this decision but I am just guessing here.

Since @SunsetRunner clarified that they didn't want to suggest this but know the reason why it wasn't implemented I didn't want to infer that they didn't know about it or that they haven't already looked for it. Still the link should help other users that may want to add their vote to it.

@mbarylski Good evening. Yes I have voted on that and have shared the link in other posts.

My point in this one was not to ask for the feature to be added but to have a business explanation as to why this was removed in the first place. As you can see from the reply from @AlvaroFitbit  it's not even known by the moderators why this was removed.

However the fact that the "legal/licensing/etc" was mentioned gives us a bit of a clue.

I think it is absolutely shameful that we haven't actually had a reply from the decision makers.

I realise you are not the decision makers but do you not think it is shameful that we have not been given the reason? It's not a difficult question is it?

FitBit are losing respect from the community for this. Despite how advance the Sense is, it is losing the fact that it is by this simple omission. As it can play music from Deezer it's not that big a jump to have private local music loaded.

Can I ask why we cannot have a statement by the developers/business developers as to why this decision was made?
