I see some older posts regarding the same problem, but nothing was clear on how to correct the problem.
My new Fitbit Sense takes over 5 minutes to connect to GPS and sometimes it doesn't at all.
Did the firmware update when it arrived and checked my location settings on my Samsung phone, etc.
All the tricks.....none worked.

Welcome to the Fitbit community.
I just went for a walk and I waited a good 30-60 seconds through "GPS Connecting". I decided to just tap start and it ended up getting connected immediately.
When you say it takes up to 5 minutes or doesn't connect at all, are you waiting like I did or do you just start going and see it connects 5 minutes into your workout or doesn't at all?

I have done what you mentioned also. I will start the exercise and it will eventually connect or not at all. I have also manually tracked through the app since I carry my phone with me.
