The device charges but the new charger is rubbish because I can't tell if it is charging quickly or slowly without waking it whichv often puts it into slow charging mode. The versa 2 that I had had the clip on charger that worked so much better because it always got good positioning and connection the new sense you can't easily tell if it is positioned right and it seems to need to be positioned perfectly and it seldom seems to be positioned well enough to charge effectively. Maybe put the notification in the app so I can tell without moving the charger and device if it is charging effectively. So I can adjust it only if I need to and so I don't have to leave it for an hour getting little or no charge thinking it should be getting a full charge.
