Just received new device, a Sense. Currently wearing the Ionic. the Quick Start has me going to download an app, etc. Haven't started the process with the new Sense yet. My Fitbit account says an Ionic is synched to the account. Should I unsynch the Ionic first before attempting to synch the Sense?

You should say you want to add a device.  It says you already have an Ionic.  Do you want  to replace it? - Answer yes, and that takes care of it for you. The say adding Sense.  Or something along those lines.  I takes care of removing previous device for you when you say you are replacing it.

Here's what happened. Charged up the new Sense, moved it close to a cell phone, loaded the Fitbit page on the cell phone, the cell phone searched for and found the Sense, asked if I wanted to synch the Sense, said I was already synching with an Ionic, and do I want that removed? Answer is Yes of course. Few minutes later, the Sense is synched, Ionic was removed. Much easier than the last time I had to switch devices from a Charge to an Ionic.

The difference, as least partly I think, is that now many devices cannot coexist on the same account, so when you add a Sense, the Ionic has to be removed.

Some older devices such as the Charge were able to coexist, so adding the Ionic gave you the option of still keeping the Charge attached also.

Anyway, glad you got it going now.

thanks for your quick reply. Everything seems to be working on the new Sense. This Ionic was recalled; Fitbit sent us a package to return the old Ionic. Wonder why they want it? Couldn't use it unless you replaced the battery, which was the reason why it was recalled (some were overheating and burning the wearer's skin).
