No ECG app on new Fitbit Sense?

Today I received my new Fitbit Sense. It's been updated to the lastest firmware (version 128.5.38).

Somehow I can't install the ECG app and the SpO2 functionality doesn't work either.

I've searched the apps-section in my Fitbit app, but the ECG app doesn't appear.  I live in the Netherlands, and according to the information on the Fitbit website it should be  available...

Am I doing something wrong or is there some kind of bug in the new firmware?

Hi @Pien1969,

The SP02 only works when you sleep and will run in the background of your device when you sleep.  You should be able to see it in the morning under your Health Metrics tile.

As far as the EKG, that comes preloaded.  Swipe left on the device twice and it should be right in the upper left corner.  Please note that you will need the Fitbit app open and your BT on in order for this app to function properly.

Hope this helps!

Hi Pien, I live in the Netherlands to and I can see (and use) the ECG app on my Sense. Can you please check in the Fitbit app on your phone if the ECG app is present? Just click on 'account', 'Sense', 'apps'. First check if you see it in 'Mijn apps', may be it first need an update.

I hope this helps and makes 'Sense' 😉

Hi Ronald,

There's no app on my fitbit and the app doesn't show up in my Fitbit app. The app is nowhere to be found.

I've tried all kinds of resets, re-installed the app, resetted my Sense etc. etc.  The Sense is my 4th Fitbit, so I know my way around the app.

Seems like I bought a "monday morning" model (as we Dutch say ..!)

I've contacted the seller and am waiting for their reply.

I guess you're right about the  "monday morning" device 😉

You just got it so it has to be no problem to swap it for a new one.

The SpO2 app is a hidden app on the Fitbit Sense. A user will need to go to the phone and the list of installed apps.

The SpO2 watch face is no longer required to record SpO2 fitting sleep.

Thanks for your reply Rich. I read about the SpO2 app being hidden, and, as of today, it is listed as an installed app on my Fitbit.

The problem with the ECG app however still remains, so I've decided to return the Fitbit to the seller.

Thanks jTiKey,

You answer provided the magical solution! My selected location was blank and once I entered The Netherlands, the problem was solved!

Thanks again!

@Pien1969 you could have simply removed the app.

Hi, I’m in the UK and also have been unable to locate the ECG app anywhere for my new Sense, despite rebooting, resetting both the app and the phone, and repeating this over a period of two weeks. All other functions work. Very frustrating. Am now retuning the watch to the retailer. Waste of time.
