My new Sense replaced a $40 watch that gave me a surprisingly accurate O2 reading at the push of a button. Does anyone have any idea if or when Fitbit will upgrade its watches to have a similar capability?

Very unlikely. It seems fitbit has abandoned updates on the flagship device (actually also all other Fitbit devices appear not receiving updates since long time)
