Option to have Audible alarms on Fitbit Sense

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Now that the sense/versa3 both have a speaker, can we set up an audible alarm? will the new OS version be capable of doing so?

if the answer is no... please tell me why.

Thank you.

EDIT: Fitbit has confirmed this feature will not launch with the sense and versa 3, I've created a feature suggestion, so if anyone is interested, you can vote on this feature. More votes mean more possibilities of this being implemented in a future firmware update. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Audible-alarms-on-sense-versa-3/idi-p/4453886

@Rinopopo Welcome to the Community.

Thank you for your suggestion about audible alarms. The alarm feature won't differ from the current way they are implemented in other Fitbit devices. Still you did great by adding this as a suggestion so hopefully other members will vote for the idea.

I'll be around.

@AlvaroFitbit are you sure? Something rattles in my tiny brain that it is supposed to have audible alarms. Could we please verify? As always thank you for your hard work! 😊

@Marrrmaduke not a problem. You are quite informed so I will see what information I can get about this. If I get any other information I will gladly post it here and I don't mind being wrong as this will mean more and new features for Fitbit Sense users.

I'll get back to you.

Thank you @Marrrmaduke and @AlvaroFitbit. I really hope this feature will be available on day 1, I'll keep the feature suggestion posted until you tell me some good news about this 😊

@Rinopopo @Marrrmaduke thank you for your patience.

I have confirmed that audible alarms won't be available just the normal vibrating ones. Still this is a great idea so I can only ask that you add your vote to the idea (I guess you already did) and hopefully other members who read this thread may also do this. This will tell the developers that many users are interested in this option. Something I want to add is that Alarms started as Silent alarms and the idea is that since it only vibrates this should only wake up the Fitbit user without bothering anyone else who may be in the same room. Still since the Sense has all these new features the implementation could be expanded as we have discussed in this thread.

😞😞😞😞😞😞well... I guess we have to wait until a future firmware update. That idea of "silent alarms" is marketing to me. If Fitbit didn't want or simply they can't add a speaker, obviously, you are going to sell the advantages of a vibrating alarm but... is it really useful to wake up? I don't know, maybe for someone, but not for me. Now that the device has a speaker it seemed obvious to me that alarms will sound. I really wasn't expecting that such an easy (in my opinion) feature to implement will be out of the release. Anyway, thanks for the info @AlvaroFitbit we'll wait for the developers.

If you are reading this, vote on this feature!!!

@AlvaroFitbit thank you for confirming this for us!

@Rinopopo I agree it's a good idea to have a choice and perhaps we could hope for this feature at a later time (not day one). About silent alarms... I was so sceptical... Really but then it actually works. At least for me! I really like smart alarm as well. I know it's actually #1 rated feature by customers. I was surprised as well. I would think HR or sleep monitoring. Nopes. Smart and silent alarm 🤷‍:female_sign:

@Rinopopo @Marrrmaduke I know this is not what we wanted to here but as you said, lets vote for the idea and hopefully, with the votes of others users, this will end as a reality to all new Sense users.

Happy stepping and stay safe!

Great idea. We should have the option to change this.

I can't believe this is not included in Fitbit. I never had one before. I just thought in 2020 all these "90's style problems" are solved.

Come on guys !

I hope they add it in a future firmware. But to achieve that, we must vote here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Audible-alarms-on-sense-versa-3/idi-p/4453886

Perhaps Google Assistant (GA) can use the speaker, so if you set an alarm with the assistance of GA...

Google Assistant will not be available until late 2020. And Alexa won't use the speaker until a future firmware, so, right now, the speaker is useless.
