I’m trying to figure out if variations in oxygen levels is normal. I started wearing with it bad to sleep about halfway through February, give or take a few days. I noticed that in February, I had about four nights where I had a spike in my oxygen variation. All other nights were in the green. I just looked at March and, given that we are about 2/3 of the way through the month, I have another random four nights with spikes. I’m not a snorer and I tend to sleep with my mouth closed and I don’t get woken up randomly feeling like I have any kind of apnea. My husband has mild apnea and I hear the way he snores so I’m assuming I don’t have it. Part of me is waving off these random spikes as it being a Fitbit and not a sleep study. It could also be the way I was sleeping, etc. I tend to favor sleeping on my left side which is also the side I wear my Fitbit. Im also a shallow breather but I don’t know if that even relates.
I tried to see if there was any correlation between heart rate or sleep stages but it’s hard to tell because Fitbit provides very little information in terms of comparison and actual timeline. I don’t know if it’s related but my O2 levels are typically between 92-98 - One night it did it into 91.
Has anyone else experienced these anomalies? I’ve attached photos with an example of the spike as well as what most of my other nights look like.
I feel silly going to the doctor over what my Fitbit is telling me and I definitely know I could never get through a sleep study because I’m a very sensitive sleeper. Just knowing I would have to sleep in a room with wires would lead me to laying awake all night lol
as a sidenote, i’m not overweight and I’m rather fit. I’m 32, I exercise every day and eat healthy. My cardio fitness level is between very good and excellent and I have a resting heart rate of about 57.
