Replaced my Ionic with a Sense. So far I am completely underwhelmed

The list of disappointments is long. I have had a fit bit since the very first little fitbit came out.  Wore a blaze, then the Ionic and now the sense.  There are so many areas that the sense fails that i will stick to the major ones.  First the Sp02 sensor stopped working 8 days ago.  Unistalled/reinstalled the app 2xs along with other methods.   2nd the sense control feature (something i desperately wanted to work) is terrible.   I will not stay connected to my Samsung phone so all day long i find myself unpairing and repairing sense control.  The sense struggle syncing to the point i turn in and off Bluetooth,  turning the phone and off, and turning the watch on and off.  Other less expensive watches are able to monitor o2 levels and even temperature levels all day long.  Other less expensive watches can actually show pictures in texts. The band is awful but in time after market manufacturers will step in. In fact, since I have had it less than 30 days I need to chalk the sense up as an epic fail and see if I can return it.  My Ionic lacks a number of smartwatch features but it actually works as advertised. For the first time in over a decade fitbit missed the mark entirely.

Feeling your pain.  This was my post a couple of days ago.  I can no longer find it in the forum but maybe it is still out there

My device is new (Christmas gift)  it has never synced well with my Samsung 10+.  I have called when phone support was available.  I have gone through the steps.  Update both devices.  Resart both devices.   Turn off Bluetooth.   Force stop the Fitbit app (because the button on the Fitbit will not restart it)  Turn off all surrounding Bluetooth devices ( really?  That's like saying your car won't start if there are any other cars in the parking lot).

I'm saying I've done my due diligence here.  I'm frustrated and I would appreciate a device that shows my sleep data in the morning without me having to all but re-load the operating system.

BtW my old Charge 2 synced with no issues to this same phone (yes I have removed the Charge 2 from my account and given it to my brother who lives in the next town)

Can any one offer any new suggestions for getting my Fitbit Sense to sync with my phone?

If this is an ongoing issue that will not be resolved please let me know.   I have seen several other posts regarding sync issues.  I do not reach out every time there is an issue.  I prefer to spend time trying to be fit vs technology trou le shooting.

Sadly the sp02 only works with certain watch faces you may already know this. What makes me crazy is its not a 24/7 thing only at night and drains the sense watch battery so I removed it for now as its only eye candy for a night only Sp02 reading. And in my mind thats just silly as we should be able to check SP02 24/7 as a night only reading is semi useless for anyone with a breathing problems. Add in like you said the connection issues to our phones makes me crazy as well more so as my old fitbit was not as bad as this. I updated the fitbit app yesterday but my vote is still out if it’s better or not for the connection issue. I am in the same boat as you very disappointed in the sense at this point and got myself a different watch band as I cant stand the band to come with the watch to hot and a pain.

Unfortunately O2 sensor has worked in 8 days.

For info, on the Sense the SpO2 monitoring is done by the SPO2 tracker app, even if you remove the clock face [which only displays new info once a day anyway] the tracker app still uses the battery at night.

As regards the syncing issues there is most likely something causing the Fitbit App to not run in background.

This may help

On the phone check battery optimizations

[the options may be different in your version]

  • First go to Settings > Apps & Notification > Special app access
  • Click on Battery optimization
  • Now press the drop down menu [...] and select “All Apps
  • Click on Bluetooth and then select “Don’t optimize
  • Same with Fitbit
  • Next go to Settings > Apps  > Fitbit > Storage
  • Clear cache [not data]
  • Force stop the Fitbit app

Sadly that is true. I have yet to find anyone thrilled.  Probably should have asked questions before I bought.

I have considered dropping my Sense & accidentally stomping on it. Wait! No accident insurance like Apple 🍎. This is the most expensive

Fitbit Smartwatch I’ve owned. I believe they are all programmed to last just over a year. Oops!  Warrant is out! I’ve had a two Charge 2’’s,

2 Charge 3:’s and one troublesome  Sense in 5 yrs.. I am considering Apple but will miss my Fitbit friends.
i have tried everything HELP or SUPPORT will tell me. This is not my first rodeo. FIX IT! Remove all other Bluetooth Devices? My phone for hands free talking? Bluetooth headphones? Wifi in my Suburban? Yes, Bluetooth connects to MyChev then the wifi. My JBL speaker?
Sorry  but Firbit is far down that list of priorities.
