Resting heart rate picked up when watch isn’t worn

Hello,

I just got a new watch, the Sense, about a month ago. I’ve noticed lately, when I take off my watch and put it on the table, it’s still calculating a heart rate. I checked last Saturday and Sunday (during the times I had it off) and it looks like I was running for hours. Is this watch defective?

Hi, @SacramentoKaren, welcome to the community, I've noticed this too from time to time. My theory is that the sensor on the back of the "Sense" detects the LED reflected from the surface I've placed it on. I suggest you place it face down when you take it off, the green LED will stop flashing quite quickly. You should try to wear the "Sense" 24/7 to get the best feedback, I realise some people must take their Fitbit off for work but try to wear it as much as possible.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

We have noticed same thing. Putting it face down solves the issue.

I’ll try it out. I usually wear most of the day and take it off while taking a shower.
