When I flick my wrist round to look at watch it’s not coming on automatically

@ALEX2602 swipe right and from the menu tap the middle icon from the second row. It looks like a watch with lateral lines on its left side. Set it to Automatic. You have it on manual, which means you need to push the haptic button to activate the screen and it won't be activated by raising your hand.

Your watch could have its sleep mode 'enabled, maybe DND, I'm not sure about this one.
Also make sure quick view is on.

This happens to me too even though my watch is set to automatic and is not in sleep mode.
Its rather annoying as its very sporadic, occasionally it will turn on when I raise my hand but its not consistent!

It's the same for me. It's set up properly but doesn't seem to notice when I turn my wrist.

I'm having the same issue. Sometimes it works and other times it does not. It can be very annoying.

Make sure that your arm is somewhat horizontal when the wrist is rotated 90°
