Update 6/14/2021:

This update should now be available to all customers! If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.

We’re excited to announce that a firmware update for Sense will be available soon!  Some of you may already have this update available - if you installed it, let us know what you think!

If you don’t see the update yet, that’s expected. Check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We expect everyone to receive the update in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

Did you know that we gradually release our updates? We do this to make sure everything is working just right for you. Sometimes we find an issue and it might take a little longer than expected for everyone to get the update. While you might see suggestions on how to “force” an update, we ask that you don’t try any of these workarounds. Most of the time the update won’t be available and you can lose data or encounter other difficulties. The best way to get the update is to be patient and wait for the update banner to appear in the Fitbit app.

I updated my Sense today with the brand new firmware and now I have nothing showing on my watch. Can't see the time, my steps, my heartrate, the apps, nothing! The only thing I do see is the background display. I've restarted the watch several times, selected new clock displays, nothing works. I didn't think it was possible for this new one to be worse than the last one but apparently I was wrong.

------------------------------------

Practically everything on the watch disappear. I can't see the time, my steps, any of the app contents. It's basically useless now.

Hi CatM1680, have you tried doing a factory reset? perhaps that might help.

I can't do a factory reset if I can't see/ find where it actually says factory reset.

@t.parker I think that depends upon how many are affected related to how many who has installed the update. It looks like it may help to factory reset the device.

So far it's been 9 days since the firmware was released and my Sense has yet to receive the update.

Why does it take so long to push updates?

I'm in the US running Android.

Try pressing on the side (where the 'knob' is) for 10 or more seconds.

I’m having the same problem as OP. What is pressing on the side for 10 sec supposed to do? It hasn’t done anything for me.

Hi everyone. Thanks for participating in this thread and welcome to our new members.

I appreciate your feedback about the Sense firmware, and for your efforts while troubleshooting your watches. As it was mentioned before, this firmware is being released to small amount of people, but we're working so all of you can receive it soon. Once your watch is ready to update, you'll see a banner in the Fitbit app.

For the ones that are having issues with the Sense not holding charge when syncing with iOS devices, let me clarify that this issue was caused by the Fitbit app and our team is working to bring a fix to all our affected members. I'd recommend keeping an eye to this thread so you can receive more updates about this situation.

@thep3000 Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Because your post didn't mention, please try restarting your tracker to Sense its performance, then try setting the countdown and stopwatch one more time. Keep me posted.

@coryrk@CTerp and @SunsetRunner Thanks for the details. Just to confirm, have you tried adjusting the speaker volume when using Google Assistant on your Sense? If that doesn't help, let's try disconnecting your voice assistant:

  1. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Sense > Voice Assistant.
  2. Tap Google Assistant > Turn off Google Assistant > Turn Off.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and Google Assistant app.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and turn back on Google Assistant on your Sense.
  5. Try using this app one more time making sure to leave the Fitbit app running in the background and your phone within 30 feet of your watch. Please note that for iOS uses, the Google Assistant app must remain running in the background on your phone as well.

@67Healey Because you mentioned that the ECG app was moved up one position, do you mean on your Sense? If that's correct, it might be that the update rearranged your apps; however, you can customize the order of your apps. To do this, press and hold the app you want to move, drag it up, down or to the sides of the screen. When it's in the correct new location, lift your finger.

@CatM1680 Thanks for troubleshooting your Sense and I'm sorry the screen is still not working correctly. Given this situation, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Support team so they can evaluate your options and bring you back on track. Click here to get connected with them via chat or phone, and make sure to share all the steps you've tried so far.

See you around.

My run app is rebooting my sense. I cannot track my runs. I am disappointed. I did a factory reset and it didn’t help. I have found if I start a run exercise and I open the for bit app or open the app from the back ground this causes the issue. Please help

6-12 update- this morning I didn’t open the Fitbit app and went for a three hour jog. The exercise was tracked via gps and didn’t reboot. The only fix is don’t have the app open

I found the issue and it now works, on the watch, under settings, voice assistant, audio feedback, it's off by default... turn it on and voila, it works.  Thanks for your help and my apologies, everything works as advertised with the exception of my common sense.

@LizzyFitbit Hello. What about the Breathing Rate data? I had just two records in one month and maybe ten in total since December when I bought my sense, which was changed by customer service few months later with no success. Is the new firmware fixing that?

Agreed! I'm so upset about the whole thing.  Feels like I tossed a few hundred bucks out the window.  Pisses me off!

@Shlebb why should we have to be beta tester for their products. Bring back the old firmware @FitbitCommunity

My suggestion is do not update till they have fixed all the issues. And do not renew your premium or buy it at the end of your trial either. I am still waiting for the update to appear on the app;  fitbit didn't reply to my questions about the breathing rate, they prefer to say a generic bug fixed. No point to risk. However it's disgusting what's going on.

I did the update and my SP02 fitbit clock face stopped working, totally.  I did resets and powering off and on and finally had to switch to a totally different fitbit clock face to get any of it to work again. I liked the original clockface much better but I tried to re-install it and it still didn't work.  Whatever you did in the update stopped the original clock face from working.
