Sense added thousands of steps while sleeping

My Sense added over 11k steps between 4:30 am and 4:45 am while I was sleeping. I am using a Samsung Note 8 and have fully restarted my phone and the Sense. Both are fully updated. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the steps still show incorrectly.

I dont know how to fix this and its messing with the data in my Lose It app. Help please!

Hi @morelikedeathly. Welcome om board. @Guy_ Thanks for your suggestions.

@morelikedeathly Thanks for every step tried prior to posting. I understand how much this is affecting your overall data and I'm sorry for this inconvenience. While this shouldn't be happening, may I know if you have MobileTrack setup in the Fitbit app? MobileTrack is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you don't have a Fitbit device available. If there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating during that time, that might have caused your watch to records steps during that time.

Assuming this applies to you, please give a try to the following steps:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap MobileTrack:
For iOS devices, scroll down and tap the option to remove the device.
    For Android devices,
tap the trash icon at the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
  4. Once that is done, use your Sense as you normally do and monitor its behavior in the next days.

Currently there isn't an option to delete the steps that have already been synced. However, you can log a non-step-based activity such as driving to override those steps.

Note to self: must stop the sleep walking!

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

This has happened to me recently my fitbit automatically turned on mobile tracker but there's some sort of glitch where it adds thousands of steps while sitting or sleeping ..to alter your steps and get a correct daily reading you need to unpaired the mobile tracker and then where the added steps have been added take a note of the time and duration and then go to the exercise section and add that time and duration as driving it will then wipe the extra steps off and give you what you've actually done that day

Hope this helps
