Sense didn't track my sleep accurately last night

Last two nights I had my Sense on the table powered on just sitting there. I went to bed around 2 hours later. Checked my sleep the next morning and the sleep tracking started when I turned on my device and not when I went to sleep. Never had this happen prior. Only the last two nights. Anyone else see this?

I did have my Sense on with no movement for over an hour. That does make sense. Thank you.

Hi @kcordiano if I understand you, your tracker was turned off while it sat on the night stand.

I assume you turned on your device when it was put on your arm at the time you went to bed.

Some people have noticed., let's say while sitting, then after watching a movie, get up and go straight to bed.

This may happen because the body was stationary for a long period of time both before and after a short walk. Fitbit will merge two sleep periods when the active time between them is 60 minutes or less.

Sitting stationary with a lower heart rate has been detected as being asleep, or at least in bed.

I recently got a Sense when my Ionic was recalled so am new to this device. I rotate through 3 different wearables but always used my Ionic for sleep tracking and it was very reliable paired with the Fitbit basic app.

Now with the Sense and Fitbit Premium which I was forced to accept as a free 6 month trial my sleep tracking is a farce. This is a week where I am not wearing the Sense during the day so it's sitting on my dresser and powered on. I went to sleep at 22:40 and woke up at 06:45 but when I synced the Sense with the app it showed 20 hours of sleep!  It does this more often than not.

I can manually edit the times but you don't get the detailed data. Otherwise the watch seems to work okay other than the step count being a bit ambitious and HR a beat or two high.
