Sense died on me for no reason

I have been wearing my Sense for the past year and 4 months with little to no issues. I do not wear it in the shower or in the water anywhere, and clean it regularly with an alcohol wipe when I can.

A few days ago while I was at work, the screen went totally black and did not respond to anything including button presses. I assumed I let the battery die by accident but when I came home and put it on the charger there was no response, but pressing the button would cause the watch to vibrate but nothing else happen. However, after leaving it off the charger overnight, the watch was able to show me that it had 0% and that flashed on the screen. So I put the watch back on the charger and left it to charge for a bit, then when I tried to check the battery percentage on it, it glitched out and the screen went black and unresponsive again.

It sometimes vibrates on the black screen, but does not have a response when I vibrate it (I can do it multiple times in a row and nothing happens). I've tried doing what google results say and doing a reset - that sometimes works, but if I try to do literally ANYTHING to the watch while it is on and seems to be functioning normally, even just to press the side button to check to see if it turns on, it will eventually go back to being a black screen and unresponsive.

I'm really at a loss for what to do. That day I may have bumped the watch against a wall by accident, but it worked fine right after that, and I've bumped it harder and had no issues. It really just seems like one minute it was working and the next it wasn't. I contacted Fitbit through the live chat and they suggested I clean the watch charging sensors and the charging sensors on the cable themselves. I did this and it still did not do anything.

I'm also really disappointed that an expensive watch like this only has a 1 year warranty, and there is no repair system that can be put in place. I can all but guarantee that there was no physical damage done to the watch to cause this - maybe something internally but again I don't wear it in the shower and am always careful when using it in a sink and such. I don't want to have to buy another watch so soon after I just got this one, but I fear I may have to abandon it because it just decided to stop working for virtually no reason.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I can now confidently get it to reset every time by long pressing the side button. Fitbit logo appears, time shows as normal, it seems to be functioning. But even if I don't touch it afterwards, if I just let it sit there, it will become unresponsive with a black screen. It takes less than 5 minutes every time.

Should I put it in rice just in case? I really don't understand what's going on I wish you guys could just take it in and see what's wrong 😭

is it just going to sleep?

If you want it to stay always on.
try swiping right and tapping the clock face

(bottom left icon).  The face will remain on.
This mode drains the battery rapidly.1

you could tap the bottom middle icon (watch) which is screen wake automatic. The watch face will come on when you raise the watch to look at it.

then there is always push the button on the side of the watch which will wake the screen

you can also tap the glass twice to wake up the watch.

Hi @mykull_s  - if you are able to sync the watch go to the Gallery tile in the Fitbit App and change clock face just in case the current clock face has developed a persistent fault.
