Does not track heart rate or calories correctly, especially during exercise, Ionic was fantastic.

I just did a quick search and I saw some posts where people questioned the accuracy of the ionic heart rate and calories tracking. Take a look and see if any of the suggestions will work for you. Good luck and hope you get it resolved.

@Clove6060 I had lots of issues with Ionic HR. In fact, this is how I decided to switch to the chest strap. My Ionic often stopped tracking HR during exercise (two dashes instead of a number). The accuracy, I can't tell whether it was better or worse than Sense. The problem here is that for most people "accurate" doesn't mean "raw data accurate" but "it feels accurate". If numbers align with what we expect we do think it's accurate. I think I could dig up some comparisons I've done a couple of years ago (against PolarH10) back then but that just brought me an "enforced holiday from the forum" (and eventually, I deleted that account). For Ionic, however, it wasn't HR the major issue. I could live with that (although the two-dashes issue was really annoying that was also an issue on Charge 2 for me). The GPS on the other hand was terrible (connecting ages, disconnecting at random moments and never connecting again). I find Sense better when it comes to GPS, and useless when it comes to HR (Ionic was useless, too). Fitbit needs external HR sensor connectivity to cover all accuracy-related needs.

Edit: I must have jinxed it just before my run! My Sense GPS disconnected at 10km of my run and never connected again leaving, 11km untracked by the GPS 🤣 Whole run was a trail under open skies but the watch failed to keep GPS connected.

I forgot to mention that the HR as reported on the Sense tracks almost perfectly with the HR on the TechnoGym cross trainer I use at my gym most days. Thats gives the Sense a good pass from this user. My wife says it tracks close to the equipment at her gym as well.

Sense not working as advertised. Either faulty or just poor tech. Rarely tracks sleep, wife tried it and same for her

I loved mine at first but now after only having it approximately 6 months or less, it will not stayed paired. It started with it only doing it once or twice a month but now I’m having to pair it almost daily. I did extensive research as I needed it for health reasons but I’m very disappointed with it now!

I've seen many threads on this dating back to 2020 with FitBit saying there's an issue and moderators redirecting to another board or saying solution may not be available for un-forseen future.

I literally will get a heart rate of 90 while doing 170lb squats & pull ups. Yet if I'm doing exercises where my hand is at rest, my heart rate will more accurately reflect the 120-140 range I get manually. Seems accurate though walking.

FitBit - Yes, my watch is on my wrist as directed. What can I do? Those workouts I *need* the heart rate remotely accurate. If you're just going to redirect to another board that doesn't include what the fix is, I don't need a response.
