I am thinking of buying the Fitbit Sense model but frankly I do not find much sense because in order to fully use its most important health functions it is practically essential to pay for the Fitbit App Premium subscription. So, at a cost of US $ 79.99 / year, in five years of use, I would be paying for the Fitbit Sense, approximately US $ 725.00.
I think Fitbit should reconsider this and at least lower Premiun's annual subscription by 50%.

I have had a fitbit since 2015. I had wanted to upgrade to a newer model, but I am looking at other options. I refuse to be forced into having to pay for premium. I don't complain, I just move.

I'm a little confused. After learning that the premium subscription was not required for me to get the ECG function, which I learned from this community, I bought the Sense. I am very pleased with my purchase. I did not buy the premium subscription and I have access to all the features I want. I get a message every day when I open the app to review my sleep asking if I snore. I don't need to pursue that because my husband tells me I snore at times. I don't need to buy premium. So why do you feel that you are being manipulated by Fitbit into buying the premium subscription. Not a criticism, just curious.

I just bought a Sense. I was looking at other products like Apple Watch and Samsung, but the ECG function pushed me into purchasing a Sense. I tried using the ECG, but the only way I could find to send myself a report was to go into the Premium section of the watch. So I'm assuming that ECG reporting will no longer be available after the Premium trial ends. That was not made clear in any documentation or adds before my purchase. Very sneaky of Fitbit to state that Sense is capable of ECG monitor and leaving out the part about having to pay extra to get the report. Now I'm thinking of just returning it and going with the Samsung.

You don't need premium for the ECG report. Just go to Discover in the app then scroll down to Assessments and Reports. You'll see Heart Rhythm Assessment in that row which is where you can get your report.

When I go to Discover and then to Assesments and Wellness Report, the first splash screen you see is,
"This is a paid offering available with Fitbit Premium...." So the only way to get a report without Premium is to go to the Heart Rate Assessment and send a report to your doctor. That's just ridiculous.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about this situation. Before anything else, let me clarify that with Fitbit Premium you'll see a deeper analysis of your data, participate in exclusive challenges, workouts and meditation sessions, and have other features such as Snore Detect or Daily Readiness Score. However, you can still use your Sense to track your stats, record activities, track GPS and SpO2, and many other features without a subscription.
In the case of the ECG app, this app doesn't depend of a subscription and you can download each of your reports at anytime in the Fitbit app. Take in mind that this report differs from the Wellness Report which requires a Premium subscription to export it.
I truly appreciate your feedback and we'll keep working to improve our devices, services and the overall Fitbit experience.
See you around.
