Sense hasn't synced for the past 3 days

I’ve owned Fitbits for over a decade but I’m definitely wearing my last one. My sense stopped syncing 2 days ago. I had 12k steps or so 2 days ago (app showed zero even though I tried to sync it all day). Yesterday ran a 5K (it shows zero) AND the time was 10 minutes behind all day. Still won’t sync today (day 3). No steps, no sleep data for 3 days!  Please no one send me all the troubleshooting advice - I’ve done it all (deleted and redownloaded app, Bluetooth on and off, unpaired, removed all other devices, reset the watch 30-some times, turned phone off/on, etc.). I now have a device that doesn’t track OR correctly tell time, so it’s a complete waste of money at this point. And this is the replacement they sent, because the first one fell off my wrist in the first week with a faulty band clasp. Frustrated.

I am having the same problem and will changing brands when this watch dies. You’d expect the problems to stop when they merged with a big company but they’ve got worse.

I'm having the same problem, only mine hasn't updated for 15days now, I've been with Fitbit for 10 yrs now, maybe time to change brands

I’m sorry you guys are having this problem too! I spent some time on the live chat with customer service, and they confirmed that my watch can no longer pair (which means it’s not storing data, and the time is lagging behind too). It’s only 1.5 years old. They did send me a coupon, but I’m hesitant to buy another Fitbit.

I had the same history since 15 days. Have you an android or iOS phone?

Thanks

I’d tried everything but this time just turned my watch on and off and now it’s syncing normally

Hi all, there are syncing problems with the new V4 Fitbit App, a watch restart is often required or even the phone too.

Once other troubleshooting starts it can make the problem worse.

The sequence of steps has to be correct and if a factory reset is done there is another bug in the new V4 Fitbit App that won't complete the setup againso the watch can become useless.

If you didn't factory reset and are still having difficulty try these steps.

Remove both Bluetooth watch entries from the phone.

Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone.

Make sure there are no other devices running the Fitbit App switched on or other way he's on.

Restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

Login and run the "Set up a Device" and replace. This should create new Bluetooth entries and sync.

Thanks!  Unfortunately, I did do a reset.  I eventually also did all the things you mention here.  I don't remember the order of what I did, but I'm guessing it was wrong.  As you said, it will no longer complete the setup - it'll get as far as asking me to enter the 4 digits showing on the watch face, but then it says something like "can't setup/abort" (I forget the exact language now).

Anyway, I hope my griping plus your advice helps someone else who has this same issue!  Friends are recommending I switch to an Apple watch, but it's so much money for stuff I don't need (I just like tracking exercise and sleep).

@JJ5  - try repeating the steps ( possibly removing the watch from the account)  before logout - the objective is to make the original watch unknown so it thinks it's installing a new watch, that may work.

Apple is a lot of money for a watch that needs charging every day, when there are other cheaper watches which last over a week, Garmin for instance. I like my Venu 2 Plus and the phone app.

Same here. I prefer the iPad since it’s easier to read. Since the app was updated to version 4 in November 2023, not syncing is a regular occurrence. Customer support has been no help after sending them bunches of screen shots. They’ve never replied. Bluetooth drops regularly. After 12 years with Fitbit, I’m now shopping for another brand.

Believe this!! I saw warnings about the factory reset rendering the watch useless, but on the repeated advice of customer support, I did it yesterday. The watch is now totally useless. Won’t turn on, won’t charge, won’t do anything. I’m shopping for a new brand after 12 yrs with Fitbit.

Customer Support advice only makes things worse in this case.
