They know. And you know what the Fitbit support team on Twitter answered me? -> "This Sense device is not for medical purposes." This means they don't take responsibility for it and from the side this way the consumer seems to be to blame for purchasing the Fitbit Sense product.

Example: My Sense rarely shows "climbed" floors incorrectly. Brides Sense shows too many "climbed" floors daily and missing floors or doesn't even show real floors. I’m talking about those moments when we were everywhere together - the high scores are different in the same place.

Yesterday's floor schedule: Sense Black  , Sense White .

For the past week or more my fitbit sense has starting counting an insane amount of floors. Prior to this there was no issue. I've tried checking for updates and restarting. It fits snug and there's been nothing else out of the ordinary. How can I fix it?

You can wait for the nextcfirmeware release @Dazzle0284

@Rich_Laue, do you know when the firmware update will be? Any idea if it's weeks or months?

I also had the same issue. I contacted Fitbit but did not get an answer. I bought my watch on February 2nd and it was great up until February 20th all of a sudden February 21st my floor started to skyrocket. Nothing changed from February 2nd until the 22nd when it started to go crazy. I ended up returning my Fitbit sense because the smart watch isn't very smart and cannot tell the difference between when you are climbing up floors or doing basic activities. This is something that needs to be addressed for the price customers are paying for these watches they could go and buy a Samsung and get more accurate results

It’s a tragedy and you’re not alone. Most people face this problem and Fitbit will not help you. Fitbit wrote to me on Twitter that this is not a medical device. As I said I bought 2 Fitbit, one sometimes showed more floors and the other showed nonsense every day. I told fiancee not to look to Sense floors because anyway, it just shows more "milk fatness".

My Sense is in transit by stagecoach going via Oregon trail from the looks of it.  I didn't know that was a Fed-ex option.  Sent on the 18th...expected in Calexico on the 11th.  I sure hope they send my replacement through a faster route.

Well for me it does not count stairs only once in a blue moon on my Sense watch. This Am best example walked down stairs zero stairs counted , walked back upstairs zero stairs counted etc Up three hrs gone up and down stairs a few times (5 X) and zero stairs counted. Bad app. And bad programming very disappointed wast of money for this Sense watch. Next time buying Apple as they work and you’re get SPo2 24/7 not just when you sleep. Stupid waste of money on this crap most expensive fitbit to date and biggest disappointment to date. Never again Fitbit will you get my $$$ , And 100% proof of lazy programming on Fitbit app it only turns / opens one way on my Apple Pro iPad and my iPad sits in a case with a keyboard so reading crap sideways in this day and age. Bad lazy app developers.

FWIW:  My replacement Sense was initially counting what looked like a handful of extra floors a day, but nothing like the hundreds my first Sense was "counting."  The new one has now "settled down" and is counting virtually no floors (as it should).  My guess is that there are at least two things going on:  a hardware problem with the altimeter and an algorithm change.

I agree this sense watch is so disappointing and I will never will call or chat with help staff as all this is on Fitbit and bad app program and programming on the watch. I’m am with you on returning it and need to look if I can do this same even though I will be wasting $100. In custom bands for it still not worth keeping. At least with Apple you get spo2 27/7 not just when sleeping 🤦‍:female_sign: My list goes on but all I can say to fitbit developers fix your junk as thats what the sense is at this point and the fitbit app pure Junk.

Ok my bad it was on night mode so it does not count stairs but will count steps on night mode. They should make it so it counts stairs even in night mode as it counts steps. Just saying. Either way still many many things I am disappointed with the sense and they need to fix.

Hello,
How is this possible, if today I don't even leave home

How is it possible? If it is a very windy day and you are walking all around the house, it may be possible.

However, as mentioned above, excess door counts have appeared with the latest firmware release.

You, @Rich_Laue, wrote nonsense and I hope you joked, because otherwise, for example, when I wrote to the support team on Fitbit Twitter, I photographed that those fake extra floors also appeared in nice weather. By the way, the fiancée then washed the laminate straight floor that day and 2 fake extra floors appeared. Here is the screenshot:

You may want to read my whole answer. As mentioned several times. In this thread, stair count got messed up with the latest firmware release, and no I'm not joking about this latest firmware release.

Now you did ask about how can extra stairs be counted?

There are many documented ways. From simply have in the tracker on the leward side of the arm on a windy dau. This is the same effect that causes the back of a truck to get dirty. Having a window open on a windy day can cause pressure changes inside the building.

Remember the change is about the same weight as a 1.5 by 1 inch piece of paper.

From this page

Because most trackers measure when you’re walking up stairs or an incline, they use a combination of motion sensors and sensors that detect air pressure. As you go higher, air pressure decreases. Unfortunately, changing air pressure levels can also mislead your tracker’s count of the number of flights you’ve climbed.

For example, riding in an elevator can register as walking up flights of stairs. Air pressure changes from riding in a car or other moving vehicle can throw off the count, as can entering and exiting high-rise buildings that have air pressure that is different from the outside. Even rapid changes in weather can register as climbing floors.
