Hello @LokeAa ,

Is your Sense still measuring floors correctly?

My theory is that since you received it only recently it still has the original firmware. Users found out that the bug appeared only after a subsequent firmware update so your case can help to prove it.

Thanks a lot to be our guinea pig. 😃

Hi everybody, I just received my new Sense yesterday as a replacement for an Ionic (which developed charging issues after an update about 3 years ago but worked perfectly apart from that, ie. It counted floors accurately).  However after a day of use I have only climbed the stairs twice according to my watch, my legs wish that were true, it's been more like 12 times in reality..... Well there goes hoping that Fitbit would make a quality product 😞

Just wanted to add my name to the list of people who either seem to live on a flat earth or Everest.... FYI Fitbit it worked on the Ionic, just copy and paste, copy and paste!!!

Thanks @Telico -  it would be interesting to know what firmware version the Sense currently has.

While there is some variance between watches, some over read and some under read [or not al all], it probably depends more on which firmware version is being used, with the original firmware seeming to be the most accurate.

I have the same issue with floor counts. I got my watch in 10/2021 and the changes started after the latest update.  I also noticed that the trial run I have been doing has the wrong elevation now.  It was accurate in Oct, starting at 6100 ft and peaking at 6900 ft.  Now it says I ran at 21000 ft.  I live in a dry climate and I know it is not weather related.

I did a chat with Fitbit today.  They said they are aware of the problem and are working on it. I asked if insisting on a replacement would help me and was kind of blown off.

Hi again in response to the firmware question @Guy_  it says Version 44.128.6.12 on the watch under settings, I hope thats the right info?

So the other day I tried turning off the stair climbing option on my Sense like some one had suggested. Interesting enough even though I walked more than my wife, mine registered me as walking over 1000 steps less. This happened two days in a row so I turned it back on. It makes me wonder just how accurate this thing really is.

Thanks @Telico , you are at the latest firmware version currently and it is odd that it under reads.

If you still have Ionic make sure to turn it off just in case. Most people's watches are over reading.

You can always use the SimpleFloors app to see how the pressure sensor is working (and even floors as a test) but it's not yet adjusted for that version of firmware.

@rfprice62  - what procedure did you follow to turn of floor counting on the watch?

On the App I hit edit then hit the x on Floors.

@rfprice62- thanks, that does nothing but remove the display of the floors information from the App window. The watch and App will still behave the same.

Did you turn it off in the app or in the watch? If so how did you go about doing it?

Yes, please share your procedure for turning off floors.

@NyeeNyee  - you can't turn off floors on the watch or in the app.

All you can do is mask showing them in the app and widgets/today app on the watch. Simpler to just ignore them.

But to hide them in the Fitbit app, click edit and remove the view.

And on the watch today app, click edit/manage at the bottom and don't include them.

They will still show on clock faces with that information and will still be recorded on your account.

I got a new Sense on wednesday. Floor count is spot on. In the first screenshot I am 6 moh(meters above sea level) - I walked a steep hill up to 34 moh. = 28 height meters. 1 floor is 3 meters. Started at 34 floors, ended at 41, and that is as correct as it can be.

Thank you!

That is good news. You may not want to apply any firmware updates until you
see others say the issue is resolved.
