Sense is tracking steps inaccurately

Fitbit mobile is way off my actual steps/active zone. This AM I walked 1.71 mile (3,214 steps) and my watch celebrated 7,000 steps when I ended tracking. Later on mobile adjusted to match watch, but tonight it’s showing 3K more steps than I walked.    What is going on?

Welcome to the community, @tprono70.

Thanks for letting me know about your Sense. While this is odd, may I know if you've used MobileTrack on the Fitbit app? I'd like to share with you that MobileTrack is a function that allows you to track basic information using your phone's sensors when a Fitbit device isn't nearby. However, if this function is used along with a Fitbit device, your stats might increase or be overridden.

To check if this applies to you, please give a try to the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap Devices at the upper left corner.
  2. If the list shows an option called Phone, tap on it.
  3. Then, tap on Disconnect Device > Disconnect.
  4. Go back to the Today app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Monitor your Sense behavior in the next few days.
