My Fitbit sense keeps pausing during workouts (circuit training and weights) and it stops tracking it completely. Even the time stops.. how do I stop this from happening so I can measure my workouts better?

Agree - really annoying. Since upgrading from Versa a couple of days ago I had this problem on every workout I did - it just went on pause without me realising. It is a design fault I'm afraid - that overly-sensitive button to the left of the screen that's triggering that pause. Never happened with Versa.
What's more, it looks like the way the data is recorded is affected. In the middle of a very intense workout, for about 5 minutes my heart rate went down to resting when normally it would be hitting peak or thereabout. Even if I was resting it would take a while for the heart rate to come down but that annoying pause seems to be overriding the real measurements. Please fix this!
Hi @Letsgetfit1, welcome to the community.
It sounds as though the button is being pressed as you are moving your hand/wrist. I've had the same thing happen myself, but only when I was wearing it on my left wrist. Perhaps you could switch wrists to see if that helps at all.
I'd also recommend voting on the following feature suggestion regarding a screen lock (here).
It's helped me to move the sense much higher on my arm so my hand/wrist don't press the button. You can press it to look at your stats, but do not press it to turn the screen off, but let it auto turn off. Turning off the screen pauses the workouts everytime and is VERY annoying when your dependant on the gps, etc...

Ok awesome, I’ll give that a go! Thank you!
Best AnswerGood idea! I’ll try wearing it on my other wrist and see if that makes a difference! Thank you 😊
Best AnswerFrankly, I don't think asking the users to move a £300 fitness tracker to another hand is a solution as it still offers plenty of opportunities to accidentally trigger a pause. It's Fitbit's flagship tracker and its basic functionality should just work as it did in the older trackers. If the button accidentally triggers the pause, the 'pause workout' function needs to be moved to the screen instead. Fitbit, please fix this!
AGREED!!! Please fix this!!
I have the ionic for three years and never had an issue was excited for the sense now I’m really disappointed and not sure which direction to go 🤦:female_sign:🤦:female_sign:
Yeah I’ve been trying it on my right and it’s still doing it. So disappointing!
Best AnswerLooks like it's been fixed in the latest firmware update - pause workout now requires a screen swipe rather than side button press.
EDIT: nope. Paused itself 7 minutes into the workout to tell me I hit my active minutes. Now the dashboard refuses to acknowledge that the workout was 40 mins, not 7. I'm getting tired of this.
Best AnswerI posted this issue on support yesterday and I got the stock answer— turn off auto pause, although I specifically said it was not auto pause
guess it might be time to look elsewhere
So frustrated with this issue. I’ve been a user and advocate of FitBit for many years, had one of the first ones, Surge (I think) then two Versa’s, an Ionic and now this Sense(of which I bot two, one for me and another for a friend; we’re both having this issue).
By far the worst Fitbit to date. I won’t be recommending Fitbit to anyone in the future (which I used to do every chance I got) and have started shopping for another brand of fitness watch. I’ve heard good things about Garmins. Absolutely ridiculous that you spend this kind of money to get flawed tracking results like this. Such a simple flaw, yet they still haven’t got it fixed in 6months.
Wow, I wish I knew this before I bought the Versa 3. I've had the Ionic for 4 years and loved it, but this over sensitive button pausing my workout if rubbish. Every calories counts!
Just curious - your Versa 3 is always pausing?
I just upgraded from a Versa to a Sense which keeps pausing and was wondering if I should replace with a Versa 3 or just go elsewhere - thank you.
Best AnswerI would say, not every single time but most of the time thr overly sensitive button is triggered. Support suggested I wore it tighter or on the other wrist. Not really a solution. In terms of going elsewhere, what options are there, I'm listening.
