My teen has a Sense paired with a Samsung s21(I also have a Sense paired with a Samsung but s24).
When she is in school her phone is on Do Not Disturb for all notifications, with the exception of if I text or call. School requires her phone to be locked in a pouch since the beginning of 2025. It does not block signal according to the school.
She does not receive notifications from me on her watch at all. I have tested it myself, and it notifies on the phone but not the watch. It is not set to silent or vibrate only during this time, I just have the volume turned very low.
Please help! I just want her to be able to see if I need to get a quick text to her. I don't know if I'm missing a setting.

@DMW118 Samsung has its own texting app that is the default on those phones. Samsung doesn't always play nicely with Google/Fitbit. On your daughter's phone, tap on the device icon in the upper left of the Fitbit app and then select her device, you'll have the option to view and edit the notification settings.
Select "Text messages" and you should get a screen that looks something like this
The first Messages app is Google and the second is Samsung. If your daughter is currently using the Samsung Messages app, I would recommend switching to the Google app and see if that works better with the Fitbit app. She would need to switch to Google Messages on her phone, as well as in the Fitbit app.

Thanks!!
We are both using the Google Messages, and have been for months. It is switched in the Fitbit app as well.
Notifications work fine normally, just not in the capacity I described above.

Hi @DMW118 - also, as you have an Android phone have a look at Macrodroid which can intercept and generate notifications based on rules you define.
Because this can work differently than built-in processing it may be an alternative solution, to leave phone Do Not Disturb off, but on silent.
Bare in mind the phone must be within watch range and syncing.
Should the two get separated they may not immediately sync up when in close proximity or at all without manual intervention.

I'm not sure what you mean by Macrodroid? Referring to behind the scenes OS processing stuff?
The only problem with using Silent or even Vibrate instead of DND is that she forgets to adjust it back after school. And if I'm not with her she needs to hear my call/text. She plays sports, which they don't have the pouch for, and has forgotten many times.
The pouch stays with her in backpack so it's def close enough for a sync. I get same results holding the 2 items right next to each other while testing it at home.

@DMW118 - Macrodroid is a very simple to use phone app.
It can be made so that the simple macro only functions during specific hours, so it can do it all automatically, including adjusting the volumes.
I use it also for a "find my phone", turns up the volume to max and plays a ring tone, regardless of current phone settings.
It can respond to keywords in your text message, so you can control the phone remotely, if you set the macro to do so.

Ok so I should amend... our Sense won't buzz or even light up to notify, but if I happen to go looking for it on my Sense the text is there.
A call shows nothing at all either, no light or buzz, until it's missed. Then if I go look at notifications I see a missed call.

@DMW118 - that's a different issue altogether.
If you have restarted the watch, and swiped the display to the right to get to Quick Settings and made sure that neither Sleep or DND are enabled try setting an alarm for in a minute to verify the vibrate is working and not faulty.

Vibrate definitely works on the watch. Sleep and DND not on in the watch menus.

Hi @DMW118 and warm welcome to the forums.
I appreciate your message, and I'm sorry to hear about this situation regarding the notifications of your teen's Sense.
In addition to @Guy_ and @alexthecat advice, could you please confirm if you went through the checks and steps described in the following article? Why are notifications delayed or missing? (Please also take into consideration that the phone must be within 30 feet of the Fitbit device to receive notifications).
