Sense not giving me distance alerts during exercise. Also loads of other issues

I’ve had FitBits for 6 years now and got the Sense as a Christmas gift to replace my 2 1/2 year old Versa. To be honest I wish I hadn’t, it’s a complete waste of time and essentially a pretty watch and step tracker at this point.

My issues:

- I don’t get any distance updates when I’m tracking exercise, i.e., running. My Versa used to give me alerts every mile and half mile. I’ve checked the notification settings, reset everything etc etc. Still can’t get them.
- it takes forever to sync or won’t at all. It’s got so bad I don’t even bother a lot of the time.
- the sensors are unreliable. I can have a sleep where I wake up refreshed and feeling great, then my Sense will tell me I slept badly. Same with temperature, I can wake up hot and sweating and it’ll tell me my temperature was below normal. I can also have a really stressful day and it’ll give me a low stress score. Either it’s that good that it overrides my mind and body or the sensors aren’t accurate.

- battery life is starting to suck. Less than three months in and with no changes on my end the battery now lasts for around 2 - 3 days. My old Versa lasted longer.

Anyone else having these issues and any suggestions for fixes? I’ve done all the usual stuff but it’s not making a difference.

I'll address the first issue.  The Sense has more options, so getting to them is not necessarily the same as it was on older model.

After you select 'Run' from the Exercise App, but before tapping the arrow to start, scroll down to see the options to apply to 'Run'.  The particular one you want is Laps 'Auto count' rather than 'manual count'.  After selecting 'auto count', you have the option to select "laps" based on miles, km, minutes, calories.  If you want it based on miles, tap that, then have the option to set "lap" as half mile to 5 miles.

At the start when you were at 'Run', note the small arrow at bottom; that indicates there are sub-menus to scroll to below.  That notation is used several places on Sense screens.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
