Messages from my iPhone does not go through to my Fitbit Sense. I’ve tried updating my phone’s software and Fitbit app as well as restarting the device but it still won’t work.

What do you mean "sync"? You can't access a history of old iMessages from your iPhone if that's what you're trying to do. However, the Sense should get/display new incoming messages and keep them (I think) until you clear them from the Sense. As far as I know, clearing texts from the Sense has no effect of the messages on your iPhone.
In fact, what you're really getting are the notifications (that happen to include the content of the texts):
Your Fitbit device can receive notifications from your nearby phone to keep you informed, including calls, texts, meeting alerts, and app updates. - https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1979.htm

I meant I don't get incoming text notifications, only incoming calls, emails and other notifications. Everything except text messages.

I have an iPhone 11 pro. I have updated my iOS and Fitbit apps and I get all other notifications except for income text messages (It is selected on notifications). I'm not sure what else to do. Thank you for that list.

I have a Android Pixel 4a, the sense had an issue after the firmware update knocking out the bluetooth connection.
1. Disconnected the Bluetooth from your iphone.
2. In the app notification, not sure there it is on the iphone Fitbit app, on the Android there 3 dot in the top right corner. It allow you to test your phone connection with an incoming call to your sense.
4. If you are unable to receive the call. Go the settings in the Fitbit watch and reset to factory, make sure you sync it first before the factory reset.
5. Once the watch reset, sync your first. Once the code has been ter check your iphone to see if your bluetooth is connected.
6. In the notification in the Fitbit test the call connection again. Then click on the notification and manually add what notification you wan to receive to your phone. It took me awhile to figure it out my sense had been working ever since.

I have a Note 10+ which is not on the list of phones, but the Note 9 is. My issue is that notification for text messages and calls are delayed or don't occur at all. On my Versa 2 as soon as they would come in on my Note 10+ I would get a notification on my watch. This is not happening with the Sense. I just happened to check the watch and saw I had a number of text messages that I had not received a notification for on my watch. I thought sense the Versa 2 worked with the Note 10+ that upgrading to the Sense would be no problem.

I have same phone and OS. I've had notifications working but it stops working. I get a red error message saying notification service not running please restart phone. This does not get rid of the error. I have had to keep re-installing the fitbit app which asks me to start notification service and re confirm permissions that are required. It works for a number of hours and fails again. This seems to be a historical fault on many Fitbits going back to 2018

I was having the same issue with the same phone and FitBit model. What is your preview notification setting on your phone? Mine was set to Never, but set to When Unlocked (the default) or Always solved my problem. Hope this helps!

I don't have an iPhone so these steps might not help... but they might so I'll give it a shot anyway.
Do you have the notifications for those apps turned on? If so, are they also turned on in the fitbit app (Fitbit allows you to filter out the notifications you get and decide which ones to send.

Hi, I’m having the same issue with my iPhone 11. Everything else works fine apart from messages not coming through. I’ve tried everything with the settings, notifications ect, reinstalled everything, system update, restored to factory settings. Did you fix it? I’m thinking of taking it back and complaining and trying to get a warranty job on it or swap for a different brand. Very frustrating especially with the price it cost of the watch. Thanks

I took it back for a refund after trying everything but the shop figured out in the phones settings (iPhone 11) the banner style needs to be on persistent. Try settings- notifications- Fitbit- turn banner style to persistent.

I had this on my iPhone 8 Plus, it worked fine after I changed the notification settings on iPhone messages, go to show previews and make sure it’s on Always (Default)
