Sense not updating hourly activity to phone app

I've been using the hourly activity function pretty consistently since I got my FB Sense for Christmas. Today, something is wrong. It appears that the watch is working fine. I'm getting the reminders at 10 to the hour. When I get all my steps in, it buzzes and says that I got my 250. The Hourly Activity display is also correct. As of 3pm, it shows that I have 6 out of 9 hours of activity.

It's the syncing to the phone that is not working and I want to make it clear that the overall sync function is working. I know that on the main screen of the app, you can just pull-down and force an update. There are no problems with the update operation. Daily steps are being updated along with heart rate data, floors, my sleep data. But the Hourly Activity is reporting 0 of 9.

It's a Samsung S21 Ultra and I have already reset it. It did not help. I would have a hard time believing that this is not a compatible device and, as I mentioned, I've been using this thing for a month and I sync it multiple times daily. Please don't say that "sometimes it takes time for things to update." If that is true, then this is a brand new behavior today contrary to everything I have experienced with this watch since Christmas day. Up until today, when I force an update, *everything* updates.

First welcome to the Fitbit community.

Have you tried deleting the Sense in the Fitbit app and readd it? I've been recommending this a lot of the time because it seemed to fix my water log and EDA Scan sync issue.

Hi and thanks for your quick response.

Is it correct to assume that all of my historical data is associated with my account and *not* my actual watch and all that data is safely stored on on the Fitbit server? And that it will all be restored after I reconnect my device with my phone app?

Thanks,

Mark

Yeah everything is backed up to Fitbit's cloud. Deleting the Sense doesn't even factory reset the watch. It's just disassociates it with your phone and app. If anything, the only thing I noticed to reset was the weather from F to C.

Hmm. Has it been a while since the watch had a restart? Shut it down and turn it back on.

I know it's not helpful but I just completed my 9 of 9 hours for the day. 😀

Resetting did not work either.

Hi @MarkCR63  - the problem you are experiencing is most likely due to a glitch in the Fitbit App which is often cured by press and hold the Fitbit App launch icon on your phone, app info, storage, clear cache only, and force stop.

@MarkCR63  -  if you are actively following hourly steps, look in the Gallery for clock faces that handle this on the watch, such as SimpleClockPro which has multiple reminders to move, shows steps so far this hour and a Steps This Hour history for the day.
