Sense "button" gone, device "dead"

When my Sense did not wake, I went to touch the side button, which is either no longer there or pushed in.  (I know that it is not a physical button).  The device is totally non-functioning and will not charge.  I have chatted with support who suggested restarting the device by pressing the button, when I reiterated that I cannot make contact with the button, I was told I would get an email later that day.  I did receive an email, which suggested checking the button shortcuts and quick settings, but of course I am unable to make contact with the device.  Two other attempts via email have had no response, I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if you were able to resolve it.

Maybe you realize this, but Sense side "button" has always been recessed, so calling it "pushed in" doesn't really make any sense.  I'm not sure your issue really has anything to do with the button.

I suggest you try pressing button for at least 15 seconds, even if nothing seems to be happening, to see if you get the fitbit logo, and a restart.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for your reply.  Yes I understand what you are saying, but the button previously protruded slightly, allowing contact to be made.  This is no longer possible, and there is no activity when I attempt to restart it.

This has happened to me today it was fully charged and after going for a swim on holiday, wanted to know what the time was, but it was completely dead, their are no lights underneath which normally know their is life in it. I tried pressing the indent for 15 seconds as another person stated but nothing, it is still lifeless. It will have to wait until I get back from holiday as can’t sort easily from abroad.

I encountered the same problem. My fix was the charging pad that attaches to the Sense had a contact pin that would not allow the Sense to charge. The pin that was bad had been pushed down into the pad and not allowing for contact. I was able to raise the pin enough to make contact and charge the Sense. Looking to buy a new charging cable.

I too went for a swim just recently and my Sense died as well.  I'm wondering if the recent firmware update causes an issue where the sense freaks out when in water and dies.  I had no issues with this device for nearly two years.  Many others in this forum have also had their sense die after going for a swim the last few days.
